Steve Argeris knows the business of sports inside and out. He leverages his in-house experience and knowledge to benefit clients from all corners of the industry.
Steve's industry experience spans across the sports sector and includes serving most recently as Vice President and General Counsel with Tepper Sports & Entertainment (owner of the Carolina Panthers NFL franchise, Charlotte FC in MLS, and Bank of America Stadium, along with various real estate holdings) and working as a sports journalist for The Washington Post covering the NFL, college sports, and boxing.
During his time with the Carolina Panthers, Steve advised senior management on all legal matters, including government affairs, employment, intellectual property, digital media, crisis communications, sponsorship, licensing, and all other commercial matters. He led the expansion effort that secured the 30th franchise in MLS history and the successful passage of legislation that paved the way for the team’s new headquarters in Rock Hill, S.C. and the surrounding mixed use development, one of the largest in the state’s history. He helped the team transition from the ownership of founder Jerry Richardson to David Tepper in 2018, then the largest team sale in sports history, and played a leading role in the team’s diversity and inclusion efforts as its then-chief human resources officer.
Steve currently serves on the board of directors of USA Rugby and has previously served on the boards of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, the North Carolina Travel & Tourism Coalition, and Loaves & Fishes, which provides food for families in need in the greater Charlotte area.
