Chambers Europe, 2023

Commercially oriented, Sabrina Borocci handles the most complex and cutting-edge antitrust and competition law issues, anticipating clients' needs and drawing on creative solutions.

Sabrina is a EU-qualified lawyer, a member of our EU antitrust practice within the Global antitrust practice and the Head of the Italian Antitrust and European law practice. Since the beginning of her career, she has been trained in litigation, corporate M&A and competition law, European and Italian, as well as European law in general. Such a training path, allows Sabrina to be able to handle complex litigation cases cross-border, with a focus on antitrust litigation, including follow-on and class actions, as well as sophisticated (including Phase II) merger control cases.

Sabrina has a strong academic background in line with the variety of her training path, having dedicated her PhD and LL.M. studies entirely to European law and Competition law. She is adjunct professor at Bocconi University.

She defines herself as an "oxymoron": a bookworm with a strong commercial attitude. Sabrina's practice focuses on cartel and abuse of dominance investigations in various industries and, merger control filings, including phase II proceeding before the European Commission. She counsels clients operating in a broad range of industry sectors, especially highly regulated sectors, including life science and healthcare, TMT and digital media, consumer, energy and natural resources and financial institutions.

On antitrust and EU law matters, she provides full-service assistance both at compliance and at litigation level.

She defines herself a litigator and navigates clients through cross-border litigation cases before the EU Courts as well as the Italian Courts, but she also advises clients on compliance with the competition rules in a wide range of commercial agreements, including distribution and agency agreements, long-term supply agreements, joint ventures, and strategic alliances. She also assists in internal antitrust audits and public enforcers' investigations (including dawn raids) and requests for information.

Sabrina's practice also encompasses regulatory matters with a specific focus on compliance with European law across member states and on competition in areas of ESG, telecommunication, commercial agreements, connection with IP rights (patents) and assistance with regulators.

Sabrina is an active member of the Global ESG Core team and the Global Tech and Telecoms Core Team, as well as the Regional Manager of ELTEMATE, the Hogan Lovells venture in the legal tech space.

Sabrina regularly receives recognition from prominent legal directories, such as Chambers & Partners, The Legal 500 and Global Competition Review, as a leading individual in Competition and European law.
