European Green Deal

Webinar - Climate neutral mobility in the automotive industry

Following the UN2030 deal and the Paris climate agreement, the EU Green Deal has been presented by the Commission as a growth strategy aiming to make Europe the first climate neutral continent by 2050.

As part of the Green Deal, sustainable and smart mobility play a vital role in the strategy of the European Commission. To achieve climate neutrality, a 90% reduction in transport emissions is needed by 2050. Road, rail, aviation, and waterborne transport will all have to contribute to the reduction.

Achieving sustainable transport means putting users first and providing them with more affordable, accessible, healthier and cleaner alternatives to their current mobility habits. By 2025, about 1 million public recharging and refueling stations will be needed for the 13 million zero- and low-emission vehicles expected on European roads.

We have invited Hildegard Müller, President of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), Dr. Thomas Becker, Vice President Sustainability and Mobility Strategy, BMW Group, and Dr. Michael Karrer, Senior Vice President, Sustainability and EHS, ZF Friedrichshafen, to share some insight into the industry and company developments in this important area.
