Jean-Philippe has an experience in the legal profession of over 17 years, including 11 years as a tax lawyer in the Luxembourg market, and has as such a broad and in-depth expertise in all relevant fields of Luxembourg tax law as well as a solid knowledge of the Luxembourg legal and tax system generally.

He advises all types of clients on both domestic and international tax issues and specializes in tax structuring, transactional and financing taxation as well as tax reorganizations. He assists clients of each industry sector on all types of direct and indirect tax issues, including transfer pricing and Lux GAAP considerations, in relation to their business, with a special focus on private equity and real estate.

After working several years as an in-house lawyer in France, he pursued his carrier in Luxembourg in a reputed accounting firm (big four) and two top tier law firms (including the biggest independent law firm in Luxembourg) as tax advisor and tax attorney respectively before finally joining Hogan Lovells in May 2016 as senior tax associate.

Jean-Philippe also regularly gives external tax trainings as tax instructor for professionals of the legal business community (IFE, Kluwer), and is also lecturer at the Lorraine University (France).

Advised RiverRock on its acquisition of Exterimmo which holds 12 assets structured as Public-Private Partnership or Public Service Delegation in France, by its RBIF1.

Advised Swissport on its offering of €410m 5.25% senior secured notes due 2024, €250m 9% senior notes due 2025 and the early redemption of its outstanding notes.

Advised ACON Investments on its co-investment in Germaine de Capuccini and the Spanish Contenur Group.

Tax analysis for CPI Property Group on the classification of EUR 550mio resettable undated subordinated notes issued under a EUR 5bn euro medium term note programme.

Advised CACIB on the incorporation of a new Luxembourg issuer and its further accession to CACIB's Structured Debt Instruments Issuance Programme.

Advised the French cosmetics brand L’Occitane regarding corporate aspects of its 60% investment in LimeLight by Alcone.

Advised Pantheon on its investment of EUR 253mio in renewable energy (wind farms, solar plants, shadow toll road), located in Germany, France, Belgium and Spain.

Advised Volkswagen Leasing in the first public STS securitisation transaction in the European asset backed securities market.

Regular advice to TIR Europe Global Forestry Fund, a Luxembourg SIF investing in forests, on all Luxembourg tax matters.
