Lloyd Parker

As Head of the Intellectual Property, Media and Technology Practice Group—Asia Pacific and the Middle East, Lloyd Parker provides trademark portfolio prosecution management, and enforcement counsel, to clients with global brands. He regularly works with the firm’s offices in Asia, Pacific, Middle East, Europe, Central and South America, the U.S., and with other law firms in more than 150 jurisdictions, to offer multi-jurisdictional IP advice (contentious and non-contentious) to clients. Having gained experience as a management consultant at one of the world's most famous management consulting companies, he provides legal counsel in a commercial, strategic, and practical manner. In addition to his primary focus on trademarks and designs he assists in high-level strategies and negotiations regarding patents, trade secrets, and copyright.

With more than 25 years of experience as an intellectual property lawyer, and more than 35 years association with Japan (including living and working in Japan for over 18 years) he is well positioned to help Japanese clients looking for globally coordinated trademark portfolio management and enforcement services, and foreign companies looking for clear commercially orientated advice on trademark issues in Japan. Lloyd has advised ten of Japan's Best 30 Global Brands (as ranked by Interbrand.) 

Lloyd is fluent in Japanese, he studied Japanese in Japan for two years—one year at Doshisha University, and one at Kyoto University of Foreign Studies. In recognition of his ability to create efficient and effective legal solutions for our clients' global trademark needs, Lloyd is recognized by every independent legal directory as a “leading IP lawyer in Japan.” He also won the Client Choice Award in 2015 for the IP and Trademarks in Japan category.
