Karen Jelsma is a member of the Global Regulatory Life Sciences team. Karen has extensive experience in product regulatory, product safety, product liability as well as commercial work. She assists consumer products companies as well as pharmaceutical, biotech and medical devices companies on matters relating to the approval, marketing, distribution, advertising and labeling of their products and on sustainability (ESG) related matters.
Karen also regularly gives risk management advice to clients on national and international product safety issues. She has assisted several global manufacturers and suppliers of products in implementing and managing product recalls and coordinating necessary authority notifications. Karen further helps companies with challenging enforcement decisions by various Dutch competent authorities.
Karen works on a regular basis with colleagues within the firm. She has taken the highly-rated Grotius specialization course in Business and Liability law.
Representative experience
Acting for a multinational company in relation to asbestos in connection with claims issued by former employees relating to alleged health damages suffered as a result of the exposure to asbestos during the employment.
