Philip Van Steenwinkel has built up a wealth of transactional experience with various forms of financial transactions, primarily in the area of capital markets law (from plain vanilla bond issues to more structured transactions and securitizations), mobilizing portfolios of loan and trade receivables, secured lending and derivatives.
He also deals with regulatory matters and helped push ahead a number of innovative deals (including assistance with a first issue of project bonds in Belgium, the setting up of a number of covered bond programmes, a public STS compliant securitization transaction of consumer loan receivables in Belgium and an investigation into the regulatory framework for crowd funding). He has earned a solid reputation amongst clients for a seamless service in achieving the client's objectives.
Representative experience
Assisting originators, arrangers and dealers on several ABS (incl. consumer loans, credit cards, inventories and SME loans) and RMBS transactions.*
Assisting various Belgian credit institutions, arrangers and dealers on covered bond programmes and issuances.*
Assisting borrowers and lenders on various asset and receivables based financing transactions.*
Assisting Belgian and foreign financial institutions in relation to various collateral arrangements (including repo's, securities lending, pledged securities accounts) and netting arrangements.*
