Scott Campbell works side-by-side with his clients on all aspects of real estate transactions to provide creative solutions to complex real estate issues. His practice involves real estate finance, acquisitions, dispositions, and related matters.  Scott focuses on sophisticated real estate transactions throughout the country and uses his experience to advise clients on innovative structuring and drafting solutions to help them achieve their business goals. Scott's practice regularly involves assets in the hospitality, sports and entertainment, industrial, office, senior housing, and energy sectors.  

Working on market leading transactions, Scott's experience includes the financing of the largest single asset deal in New York City at the time, representing lenders on the development of experiential assets throughout the country, the acquisition of various ski resorts for Alterra Mountain Company, the acquisition of the Denver Broncos, and the sale of the Barclays Center (the latter two transactions also being part of the highest valuation for an NFL and NBA team, respectively, at the time).

In addition to his transactional work, Scott regularly writes legal articles, teaches CLEs and provides commentary on current real estate issues. Scott has been recognized nationally as an "MVP - Real Estate" and a "Rising Star - Real Estate" by Law360, as well as a "Trailblazer" in the real estate industry by The National Law Journal.  

Representative experience

Represented the Walton-Penner family on all real estate matters relating to the acquisition of the Denver Broncos for reportedly the highest valuation ever paid for a sports franchise.

Represented a real estate investment management firm on a mixed membership and asset acquisition of a US$1.26bn industrial portfolio located in core markets throughout eleven states in the U.S. 

Represented Partners Group on the sale of a large-scale portfolio of U.S. industrial properties at a price of more than US$1bn.

Represented a subsidiary of VICI Properties Inc. on the US$350m mezzanine construction financing for the Fontainebleau on the Las Vegas Strip (named 2023 Financing Deal of the Year).  

Represented a real estate investment management firm on a US$633m loan secured by industrial assets in ten states throughout the United States.  

Represented Onexim Sports and Entertainment Holding USA, Inc. in connection with the sale of the Barclays Center and the controlling interest in the Brooklyn Nets to Joe Tsai.

Represented Alterra Mountain Company on numerous deals involving the acquisition of ski resorts and related commercial properties located in Utah, California, Washington, and Vermont.

Represented a subsidiary of VICI Properties Inc. on the US$1.5bn mezzanine construction financing for One Beverly Hills, an ultra-luxury mixed-use development in Beverly Hills, California.

Represented Welltower Inc. on the acquisition and financing of an 11-property portfolio of senior housing facilities for US$826million.  

Represented Welltower on its US$350m loan from Key Bank and Fannie Mae as part of a refinancing on a portfolio of 32 senior living properties across Missouri, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

Represented an international real estate developer as the borrower on a master credit facility in excess of US$900m secured by student housing complexes.  

Represented a real estate investment management firm as the borrower on a mortgage loan in excess of US$475m secured by industrial assets located throughout the United States. 

Represented a lender on a US$510m construction credit facility to the North Fork Rancheria Economic Development Authority for the North Fork Casino in Madera County, California. 

Represented a real estate fund on the US$471m acquisition of a portfolio of senior living facilities along the Eastern Seaboard and US$299.5m acquisition financing secured by the facilities.   

Fenway Sports Group (FSG) and the Strategic Sports Group (SSG) on all real estate aspects of their strategic collaboration with PGA TOUR Enterprises.
