Hogan Lovells advises Chequers Capital on the acquisition of Corning Services

Led by Frankfurt partner Jörg Herwig, international law firm Hogan Lovells has advised private equity investor Chequers Capital on the acquisition of 100 % of the shares in Corning Services GmbH. The transaction was closed on June 30, 2021. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The team advising on all financing aspects of the acquisition was led by Frankfurt partner Bianca Engelmann and the team for the German tax structure by Dusseldorf partner Mathias Schönhaus.

Chequers Capital is one of the oldest private equity investors in Europe. Established in 1973, the company manages assets totalling around EUR 2 billion and, with 20 investment professionals, is one of the leading players in the mid-cap private equity market in Europe. Chequers Capital invests among others in industry, B2B services such ICT and healthcare as well as in global companies with international development potential.

Over the past 20 years, Corning Services has established itself as a long-term partner to telecom carriers, utility companies, and other owners or operators of critical IT and telecom networks. Services include network monitoring, maintenance, and operation, as well as design, project management, commissioning and system integration. Headquartered in Hannover, Germany, the Company employs 80 highly skilled employees who drive its strong growth.
