Job Boomgaard advises clients with a global presence on all aspects of privacy, data protection and regulatory matters. Providing advice on topics including multi-jurisdictional GDPR compliance programs, international data transfers, e-privacy, cookies and the use of artificial intelligence, Job helps companies spanning a number of industries, including e-commerce, technology and travel, develop new technologies and implement business strategies in an evolving regulatory landscape.
Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Job gained experience as an in-house counsel at one of the largest energy suppliers in Europe and a large Dutch telecom provider, where he gained in-depth knowledge on consumer law, rules on unfair/misleading commercial practices, data sharing, GDPR compliance programs and contract law. Job also gained valuable experience working on the client side during his secondments to multiple international companies in the technology, e-mobility and automotive sector.
Representative experience
Regularly advising clients on data protection strategies and compliance, including privacy impact assessments, compliance analyses and contact with regulators.
Drafting and negotiating data processing agreements and intra-group data transfer agreements and developing cross-border data transfer strategies.
Advising clients on cookie law issues in the evolving EU regulatory landscape, amongst others in relation to guidelines for supervisory authorities and in light of the DSA and DMA developments.
Preparing gap analysis reports to assess compliance levels of current practices versus regulatory requirements.
Advising clients on the use of (generative) artificial intelligence
