Since joining Hogan Lovells Luxembourg as a founding team member, Alexander Koch has brought his wealth of experience in Luxembourg corporate law and commercial matters including mergers, demergers, acquisitions, corporate finance, restructuring and legal advice around insolvency to local and international clients from a wide range of industries, such as private equity, real estate, automotive, energy, etc.

He also engages actively in the development and training of the future generation of lawyers, acting as a mentor for our corporate practice associates.

Alexander has a quite international education and professional experience. He trained at the United Nations in Geneva and at a leading Swedish law firm in Stockholm. He worked for six years in the corporate department of a well-respected Benelux law firm in Luxembourg prior to joining Hogan Lovells as senior associate.

Representative experience

Advised Swissport on its offering of €410m 5.25% senior secured notes due 2024, €250m 9% senior notes due 2025 and the early redemption of its outstanding notes.

Advised Swissport, an aviation industry key player, on his acquisition of Aerocare, one Australian and New Zealand air services market leader for USD 620 million.

Advised Charterhouse capital on 60% acquisition Serb (Belgian pharmaceuticals business) which reported EUR 65 million in revenue in 2016.

Advised ACON in the acquisition of the Spanish Contenur, active in providing solutions for urban waste management, through a Luxembourg investment and financing platform.

Advised listed U.S. company PerkinElmer, on the acquisition of EUROIMMUN Medizinische Labordiagnostika for EUR 1.2 billion, by way of a share deal.

Advised on Castik Capital's investment in German dental chain AllDent.

Prologis on the sale of a USD1.1bn portfolio of logistics properties in Europe and North America to Mapletree.

Advised CapitaLand on the acquisition of the Gallileo office tower building in Frankfurt.

Advised pipeline integrity specialist NDT Global Limited on the sale of NDT Global Group to Canadian Eddyfi NDT Inc.

Advised Ford Motor Company on Volkswagen AG's US$2.6bn investment into Ford's autonomous vehicle platform company, Argo AI.

Advised NII Holdings on its sale of its 70% interest in its operations in Brazil to América Móvil, S.A.B. de C.V.

Advised LaSalle in the setting-up of a REITs structure in Spain to invest in residential properties for rent and the first acquisition, a six-storey residential property in Madrid financial district.

Advised RiverRock on its acquisition of Exterimmo which holds 12 assets structured as Public-Private Partnership or Public Service Delegation in France, by its RBIF1.
