As a senior associate in our Intellectual Property, Media, and Technology (IPMT) group, Max Scott participates in the representation of clients in complex commercial transactions with a focus on technology and IP-related deals, including the IP aspects of venture capital, strategic buyer, and mergers and acquisitions transactions.

Max advises clients on matters related to the joint-development, licensing, acquisition, sale, use, and protection of IP and on IP protection strategies. He also assists with agreements for the provision of technology-related services, reseller agreements, and outsourcing and distribution agreements.

Advised Dignity Health, the fifth largest health care provider in the United States, in numerous large technology, outsourcing, and IP-related transactions.

Advised eBay in all IP aspects of its acquisition of Giosis Pte Ltd's Japanese ecommerce business, including the Qoo10 platform.

Assisted Marvell Technology Group in all IP aspects of its US$6bn acquisition of Cavium Inc. and in its pending US$450m acquisition of Aquantia.

Counselled Synopsys in the IP aspects of its acquisition of Black Duck Software and Sidense Corp.

Advised Dialog Semiconductor in IP aspects of its US$276m acquisition of Silego Technology.

Helped Atlassian in all IP aspects of its acquisitions of OpsGenie and Agilecraft.

Assisted Sabre in all IP aspects of its acquisition of Farelogix.

Advised a major consumer retailer in the negotiation of an agreement for an enterprisewide hosted enterprise resource planning system.
