Installing Antitrust Firewalls For AI And Other Innovations

Antitrust enforcement has changed rapidly in recent years, driven not only by policy changes, but also by technology shifts in the modern economy. The U.S. Department of Justice recently signaled that it will continue to heavily scrutinize information exchanges in both the physical and virtual realms.

With the rise of vertical integration, big data, and algorithms and artificial intelligence, access to CSI has proliferated. With more and more potential touchpoints for companies to receive or share CSI, there are greater opportunities for companies to violate the antitrust laws through an improper use of CSI.
