Hogan Lovells Shortlisted for City of London Dragon Award - Our Support for Local Education

Founded in 1987, the Dragon Awards are overseen by the Lord Mayor, who is head of the City of London Corporation, which provides local government services for the Square Mile. The first of their kind in the UK, the Awards celebrate community engagement programmes, recognising businesses and public offices that go above and beyond their core work to significantly impact the regeneration of their local communities. Our Support for Local Education

We have partnered with Elizabeth Garrett Anderson School (EGA) in Islington through Business Class, a national Business in the Community (BITC) programme linking businesses with local schools.

Our Business Class programme aims to raise the aspirations of EGA students so that they make the best choices for their needs and expectations. EGA also has its own needs from the relationship, including in relation to leadership and governance, employability and enterprise, curriculum, and wider issues. We are currently in the second year of our three year relationship with EGA, and we have developed programmes such as an after schools debating class, middle leader training for staff, and career days, amongst many others.

Hogan Lovells leads the Islington cluster for Business Class, and three of the businesses we work with in the cluster are major clients of the firm. By taking this leadership role we are able to assist our clients with their Corporate Social Responsibility programmes and to work with them on collaborative cluster events.

The winners of the Dragon Awards will be announced at an annual dinner, hosted by the Lord Mayor of the City of London, held at The Mansion House.
