Hogan Lovells Partner José Luis Vittor Named Chair of International Bar Association’s Water Law Committee

HOUSTON, TX, 5 January 2014 – Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce that Houston Energy Partner José Luis Vittor has been appointed Chair of the International Bar Association’s (IBA) Water Law Committee (The Committee). Vittor will serve from 1 January 2015 through 31 December 2016.
The IBA is the world’s leading organization of international legal practitioners, bar associations, and law societies; it influences the development of international law reform and shapes the future of the legal profession throughout the world. Lawyers join committees depending on their practice area and through those committees publish regular news and articles as well as organize professional conferences throughout the year.
The Committee focuses on legal issues associated with water as a critical resource and as a basic need and building block throughout the world. It seeks to promote the active exchange of information and views on the use of water as a limited resource, its environmental aspects, water disputes, and the governance and business of water.
At Hogan Lovells Vittor focuses his practice on infrastructure and other project development and finance transactions, primarily assisting clients in the energy and infrastructure industry. He also has extensive experience in commercial and corporate transactions, public and private partnerships, and international arbitration.
