Hogan Lovells' Associate Shortlisted for 2012 Rising Star Award by The International Women's Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC)

TOKYO, 20 September 2012 – Hogan Lovells' associate Rachel Lao, who is based in Tokyo, was selected as one of the five finalists to receive the 2012 Rising Star Award by IWIRC. All five of the finalists for the Rising Star Award will be recognized at the Fall Conference on Wednesday, 24 October in San Diego, CA. The award recognizes Rachel's exceptional contributions to IWIRC which includes assisting on the establishment of the Japan Network of IWIRC.

About the Japan Network of IWIRC
The Japan Network is a local chapter of IWIRC established under the leadership of Hogan Lovells' associate Rachel Lao. It is the first and only women's network for insolvency and restructuring practitioners in Japan. The Japan Network was established with the purpose of promoting the connection and growth of female professionals in the insolvency and restructuring industry in Japan through a wide range of networking activities including seminars, cocktail receptions, luncheons and wine tastings.
IWIRC was founded in December 1993 and is the first international professional association dedicated to enhancing the professional status of women in the insolvency and restructuring industry. The precedent-setting organization has over 1,200 members globally representing all disciplines of insolvency and restructuring. Through its 35 networks worldwide, IWIRC offer seminars, intellectual capital, career resources, leadership opportunities and guidance for personal and professional development.
