Joely Grieff focuses her practice on providing creative and effective solutions to public and private companies on a broad range of corporate, cross-border, securities, and general business matters.

Joely's passion for advising businesses began prior to law school as she worked for a variety of companies, from consulting with start-ups to a full-time position in the strategy and innovation group at one of the largest wealth management companies in the world. While in law school, Joely gained further leadership and business experience by serving as a senior notes editor of The Washington University Law Review, working for a financial regulatory agency in Washington, D.C., and interning in-house with a large financial services firm.

She is passionate about pro bono causes that allow her to draw on her corporate skill set, particularly those related to women's rights.

Representative experience

CI Financial on its acquisition of certain assets comprising the wealth management business (AUM US$11.4bn) of Eaton Vance WaterOak Advisors, formerly Eaton Vance Investment Counsel.

IBM on the global separation and reorganization of Kyndryl Holdings, Inc., its managed infrastructure services business, prior to the spin-off of Kyndryl into a separate publicly traded company.

Dell Technologies Inc. on the sale of the global RSA business to a consortium led by Symphony Technology Group, Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board, and AlpInvest Partners for US$2.075bn.

SB One Bancorp in its merger with Provident Financial Services, Inc.
