Pierre Estrabaud advises clients on a full range of international trade-related matters. He combines legal analysis and policy advocacy to help clients navigate complex issues involving economic sanctions, export controls, customs, national security matters, and foreign investment reviews.
Pierre helps companies to develop sanctions compliance policies and training programs, obtain government licenses and authorizations, and conduct internal investigations and voluntary disclosures. In this regard, Pierre has experience representing clients before the EU-UK sanctions and export controls authorities, and has assisted clients with litigations before the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg.
Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Pierre worked as a public affairs advisor in Brussels (Belgium) where he was involved in matters related to Brexit negotiations, and as an associate in the tax department of international law firms in Paris (France), London (UK), and Athens (Greece). He also taught EU Law and International Tax Law to LLB students at University Paris II Pantheon Assas and to French Trainee Solicitors (Eleves avocats) for 4 years.

Assisting an EU entity operating in the advertising sector with assessing their compliance with EU/UK sanctions, and setting-up their EU/UK sanctions compliance policy.
Advising a major European financial institution on EU and UK sanctions laws adopted against Russia, and applying for licences from the relevant sanctions authorities
Advising a French private investment house on sanctions and export control compliance, and drafting of internal sanctions compliance policies.
Helping technology companies to classify goods, technology, and software and obtain licenses and classifications under EU/UK Dual-Use Regulations.
Advising a US medicine manufacturer with labelling requirements when placing products on EU markets.
Advising a US entity on duty-free regulations in the EU.
