Yasuyuki Shirabe is a senior associate in the Hogan Lovells Corporate team in Tokyo and has extensive experience in financial services transactions and regulations including investment funds and private equity. He also advises clients on corporate governance, corporate dispute, labor law issues, and restructuring and insolvency issues, as well as wind-downs and liquidation procedures.
Before joining Hogan Lovells, Yasuyuki worked at a major international law firm and advised foreign investment funds on financial regulation including short selling, insider trading, tender offer, procedure under the Act on Prevention of Transfer of Criminal Proceeds, the Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Act, and the Personal Information Protection Act, registration of financial instruments business, filing of dealing in private placement of foreign investment trusts, submission of large shareholding reports, preparation of internal rules, and dealing with the regulator regarding financial services.
Yasuyuki was also engaged in negotiation of execution of agreements such as a non-disclosure agreement and a pledgee agreement. He also worked at a domestic law firm and represented a Japanese major financial institution on litigation.

Advising Virbac on its agreement with ORIX Corporation for the €280 million acquisition of its Japanese animal health subsidiary Sasaeah Holdings Co., Ltd.
Advising Sojitz Corporation on its acquisition of Silaba Motors, S.A., marking Sojitz's entry into the Central and South American market.
Daicel Corporation on its strategic investment in PharmaJet, a U.S.-based company that develops needle- and syringe-free device systems for intradermal injections.
Advising Samvardhana Motherson International Limited on its purchase of an 81% stake in Yachiyo Industry Co., Ltd., a TSE-listed subsidiary of Honda Motors Co., Ltd.
Advising Applied Materials on its proposed multi-billion-dollar acquisition of Kokusai Electric’s semiconductor manufacturing business in Japan.
Advising Adobe on its US$4.75 billion acquisition of Marketo, the market-leading cloud platform for B2B marketing engagement.
Advising Salesforce in its acquisition of Datorama Inc., a marketing intelligence company with major offices in Tel Aviv and New York City.
Advising eBay on its acquisition of Giosis Pte Ltd's Japanese business, including the Qoo10 online shopping platform, for over US$700m.
