In 2004, Thomas Frank decided to go for pension law as a focus of legal advice, which is still considered as an exotic practice area in Germany. Since then, Thomas has broadened and deepened his experience by providing daily advice, publications in well-known journals and reviews as well as lectures at conferences, trainings courses and seminars. He is one of the few counsels in Germany with a focus on pension law.
Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Thomas worked as a lawyer drafting, implementing and amending company pension plans. As regards the liabilities under such pension plans, Thomas will create solutions for you, be it that the liabilities are too high, the liabilities impend to be higher than expected or the liabilities shall not be borne by the liable company any longer. As a litigation lawyer in pension law, Thomas can draw on his experience not only before various regional labour courts, but also before the Federal Labour Court. In particular in our international environment, Thomas provides support in numerous corporate transactions and restructurings.
Apart from his legal proficiency, you will also benefit from his knowledge of the practice by external pension providers to administrate, to realise and to insure pension liabilities.
Thomas studied law in Wuerzburg. While working as a research assistant at the University of Wuerzburg, he received a Ph.D.
