Protecting Alderney's wildlife

Alderney has moved a step closer to having new legislation to protect its rich marine and terrestrial wildlife. We recently provided pro bono guidance for the proposed law at no public cost as part of our sustainable development commitment to support the The Wildlife Trusts.

The next steps will involve further public consultation with a range of interested parties, including wildlife organizations, landowners, animal welfare, veterinary services and the shooting community among others.

"This legislation will build on our island's land and marine conservation credentials and enhance our reputation in the eyes of the international community as well as residents," said Policy and Finance Committee chairman James Dent.
