Promoting gender equality with Barefoot College

We are committed to promoting gender equality around the world. The pinnacle of that commitment is attributable to our long-standing shared value partnership with Barefoot College International, which trains rural women as solar engineers. The partnership has trained 374 women from 35 countries – known as Solar Mamas –  and brought clean and renewable light to 230,000+ people.

100+ lawyers provided 1,300+ hours of pro bono advice, enabling Barefoot to open four additional training centers in Africa. 20+ lawyers researched human rights across 18 countries, partnering with Barefoot and Positive Negatives to transform the research into teaching tools for the Solar Mamas.

Our IP team worked on our documentary Flip the Switch, which has received official recognition at more than 20 international film festivals.
