D.C. Represents

The D.C. Access to Justice Commission created a task force after the pandemic hit that, in part, focused on identifying legal needs emerging out of COVID-19 and securing additional resources to help address them.

The resulting “D.C. Represents” campaign asks law firms and other organizations to make a specific commitment to expand their existing pro bono efforts directed toward serving District residents particularly in the areas of eviction, domestic violence, debt and consumer protection, public benefits, unemployment, and children and families.

We signed on to the campaign with a pledge to focus on the legal needs of our neighbors by partnering with the Children’s Law Center and Legal Aid on housing conditions matters; DC Volunteer Lawyers Project (DCVLP) on domestic violence and family law issues; and the Neighborhood Legal Services Program (NLSP) on criminal-record sealing cases.
