Advising TRAFFIC on a review of marine legislation in the Republic of Congo

We are supporting TRAFFIC with the review of the marine legislation in the Republic of Congo (“Congo”) to assess the areas where the country’s marine legislation may not sufficiently ensure the conservation of sharks and propose recommendations where its legislative framework may be enhanced.

TRAFFIC is a wildlife trade monitoring network and a leading non-governmental organisation working globally on wild animals and plants in the context of both biodiversity conservation and sustainable development. It is also a UK-registered charity under the name TRAFFIC International.

The following team of volunteers across the Hogan Lovells APAC and EMEA offices collaborated to outline the key gaps and recommendations for Congo’s legislative framework in a report to TRAFFIC: James Wood, Charlotte Le Roux, Priscilla Pang, Astrid Zourli, Arnaud Carlier, and Lorène Sani.
