Advising Charity Helping Children Across Asia
A team in Singapore advises Blessings in a Bag (Blessings), a nonprofit social change organization based in Singapore that provides meaningful resources to abused and medically ill children across Asia. Over the past year, our team has provided a range of legal advice to Blessings, and will be supporting Blessings as it moves to formalize its organizational structure to better suit its current activities.
Blessings was established to support existing aid-delivery organizations through, among other activities, coordinating the collection of gifts and donations from the public. Blessings recently expanded its remit and now also supports women's livelihood programs in the Philippines and Cambodia. Using materials donated in Singapore together with local skills and resources, Blessings-supported groups create a range of products for sale and help provide safe and sustainable working environments for women who have been the victims of human trafficking and domestic abuse.
Our team has advised Blessing in relation to hiring arrangements for interns and volunteers, legal issues relating to overseas field trips, and the negotiation of sponsorship agreements.
