A greener Miami

In February 2021, public officials in Miami held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the first phase of The Underline, a world-class linear park and transportation solution for which Hogan Lovells has provided pro bono legal services since the not-for-profit public-private enterprise’s inception in 2013.

The Underline aims to deliver safer, better connected, more inclusive, more resilient, and greener public spaces to Miami residents and visitors. The full 10 miles of the urban trail project must be completed before 2025 under the terms of a $22+ million federal grant that we helped Miami-Dade County obtain in 2019.

The project was profiled on the front pages of The Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald, as well as in Forbes, Architectural Digest, Dwell, Fast Company, Conde Nast, and elsewhere. The late, great Parker Thomson was the first champion of The Underline.
