Jourdan's practice focuses on complex commercial litigation. He has wide-ranging experience advising clients on a broad range of commercial disputes, including particular experience of disputes relating to company and insolvency law and joint ventures.  Jourdan also has substantial experience of general commercial disputes, such as those arising out of breach of contract, professional negligence, and commercial fraud. Jourdan also provides company and insolvency law advice.

After qualifying as a solicitor,  Jourdan began pupillage at a leading commercial chambers in London.

Jourdan is qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales.

Before joining Hogan Lovells, Jourdan worked in the London office of a major New York law firm.   

Representative experience

Representing BTI before the Supreme Court in a landmark case concerning the nature of directors' duties in England.*

Advice to an environmental NGO as to potential derivative claims in the English Court against a major international oil company.*

Representing a major bank in proceedings across a number of jurisdictions, including England, arising out of the financial collapse of a major oil refinery.*

Representing BAT in the English High Court as to alleged professional negligence by its former auditor resulting in the payment of dividends. *

Representing Litasco in respect of a contractual claim seeking damages of around US$ 1.9 billion.*

Representing BAT in proceedings arising from the US$ 1 billion clean-up of the Fox and Kalamazoo Rivers in the U.S.

Representing a US private equity firm as to a multi-million pound insurance claim against arising out of a sale and purchase agreement.*

Representing an officeholder on claims against a company’s former directors and management team.*

Representing an international distiller on a dispute arising out of an alleged breach of competition law in the EU.*

Representing Robert Tchenguiz and his associated trusts in a commercial court claim against Grant Thornton.*

Representing a major international company in a confidential shareholder dispute relating to the breakdown of a joint venture.*
