New counsel for antitrust team – Hogan Lovells welcomes Lukas Rengier in Munich

International law firm Hogan Lovells has strengthened its German antitrust group with the addition of Dr Lukas Rengier (39), who previously worked at Allen & Overy in Hamburg for seven and a half years. He joined Hogan Lovells on 1 March as Counsel in the Munich team led by Dr Christoph Wünschmann and Christian Ritz.

Lukas Rengier advises on all matters of German and European antitrust law. He has special expertise in antitrust litigation. He acted on numerous high-profile cases and secured important judgments for clients, for instance in the "Trucks" case. Another focus of his work is merger control. Lukas Rengier has advised on a large number of transactions and obtained clearances from the relevant authorities worldwide. His recent experience includes a transaction in the chemical sector that was cleared subject to conditions. He also defends clients in cartel and abuse of dominance proceedings and advises on issues at the interface of antitrust and patent laws.

The antitrust team in the Munich office now includes two partners, two counsel and six associates. With five partners, five counsel and 16 associates at four offices in Germany and the Brussels office, the German antitrust team of Hogan Lovells is one of the largest units in the German market. 

With the new addition, Hogan Lovells once again emphasizes the importance of its German antitrust group. On an international level, Munich partner Christoph Wünschmann together with Washington partner Logan Breed has been appointed head of Hogan Lovells' antitrust group on 1 September 2021.
