Mike Karl Schmidt advises German and international clients on public takeovers and private M&A transactions as well as on all issues related to corporate law.
His areas of expertise include domestic and cross-border acquisitions and restructurings in the financial services sector (banking, payment services and other financial services) and in other industries (e.g. real estate, industrial, automotive, retail and consumer goods).
Mike studied and obtained his doctorate in Heidelberg with a focus on corporate law. His dissertation also centered on questions of corporate law, namely the cross-border conversion of companies within the EU. Mike joined our Corporate/M&A team in 2017 as a research assistant followed by his legal traineeship stations and is working as a lawyer since 2022.
