Michael Singh represents clients in domestic and international arbitration proceedings. Michael has worked on post-M&A disputes and cases relating to large-scale infrastructure projects, as well as the defense, energy, and pharma and life sciences sector. He has experience in handling institutional arbitrations under various sets of rules, including those of the ICC and DIS, as well as ad hoc arbitrations. Furthermore, Michael frequently serves as secretary to the arbitral tribunal. 

Besides his practical experience, Michael dealt with international arbitration from an academic perspective in his doctoral thesis at the University of Hamburg and in the course of his studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Michael’s clients benefit from his rigorous academic approach to their cases. Furthermore, due to his quick grasp of the technical and commercial issues underlying the disputes, Michael regularly finds practical solutions that serve his clients needs. 

Before joining Hogan Lovells, Michael worked in a boutique law firm, specializing in dispute resolution in general and arbitration in particular. 

Representative experience

Advise and representation of an aviation company in a post-M&A arbitration concerning the payment of an outstanding purchase price following an adjustment based on closing accounts. 

Advise and representation of a leading pharmaceutical company in an ICC arbitration proceedings against a Chinese supplier

Secretary to the arbitral tribunal in a DIS arbitraiton concerning an infrastructure and IT project.*

Advise and representation of a healthcare startup in a post-M&A arbitration concerning an Earn-Out and non-compete and non-solicitation covenants (DIS). *
