Kyra combines comprehensive scientific knowledge and deep understanding of complex technical issues with legal expertise in intellectual property law. She supports national and international clients in litigation proceedings and provides her technical expertise to the legal attorneys at our firm in all business areas.
Kyra studied chemistry and specialized in organic chemistry in her master's degree. She wrote her master's thesis in the field of biosupramolecular chemistry at the Chair of Organic Chemistry at the University of Duisburg-Essen. She also worked on technical setups for laser ablation as part of her advanced thesis at the Chair of Technical Chemistry at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Subsequently, she completed her doctorate at the Chair of Organic Chemistry at the University of Duisburg-Essen in the field of biosupramolecular chemistry on tailor-made polymers for the recognition of protein surfaces.
In the course of her training as a German and European patent attorney, Kyra successfully completed her studies in "Law for Patent Attorneys" as well as the European qualifying examination (EQE) at the European Patent Office.
Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Kyra worked as a patent attorney trainee at an internationally active patent law firm in Dusseldorf. In addition, Kyra has interned at the Higher Regional Court of Dusseldorf (at the 15th Civil Senate under the direction of the presiding judge of the Higher Regional Court of Dusseldorf Ulrike Voß). She acquired in-depth experience of legal problems during her placements at the internationally renowned Higher Regional Court of Dusseldorf as well as at the German Patent and Trademark Office and the Federal Patent Court in Munich.
