John is a senior corporate and M&A partner in our London office. John has a great depth of experience across many different industry sectors. John has a particular focus on transactions in regulated sectors and spends a significant proportion of his time on transactions in the financial services sector.

John has vast experience advising clients on complex reorganisations and restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, investments and debt portfolio sales.

His clients include corporates of all shapes and sizes, financial institutions, banks, asset managers, investment firms, funds, private equity and other financial services firms.

Lloyds Banking Group/Scottish Widows plc on the acquisition of Zurich's UK workplace pensions and savings business with AuA of £19bn.

UBS on the sale of its traditional fund administration services business in Luxembourg and Switzerland (with AuA of US$420bn) to Northern Trust Corporation.

TSB Bank plc on the acquisition of £3.3bn of Northern Rock mortgages and loans from Cerberus as part of the £13bn acquisition from UK Asset Resolution.

Erste Abwicklungsanstalt bank on the sale of Basinghall Finance Limited to Blackstone and Macquarie.

UBS on the sale of UBS Delta to Stat Pro plc.

PIMCO on debt portfolio and share acquisition transactions.

Lloyds Banking Group on the sale of CMI Insurance, Lloyds Banking Group's offshore closed book life insurance business to RL 360.

Lloyds Banking Group on the sale of a portfolio of leveraged loans to ELQ Investors II Limited (a subsidiary of Goldman Sachs).
