Daniel Garcia has represented major companies in corporate, compliance, litigation, and international arbitration matters as both an in-house lawyer and in private practice. Daniel has experience advising domestic and international companies in a range of industries, including biotechnology, finance, construction, and oil and gas, with a particular focus in the life sciences industry.
Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Daniel gained experience in representing and providing legal advice to domestic and international biotechnology companies (ranging from startups to publicly traded companies) with a focus on general corporate law and business transactions, including a wide array of commercial agreements such as licensing, materials transfer agreements, clinical trial agreements, masters services agreements, product development, and product manufacturing and supply agreements. Given Daniel’s extensive experience and legal training in both the United States and Mexico, he has also been able to provide legal advice and counsel to U.S.-based clients in connection with cross-border transactions and commercial agreements that require knowledge, interpretation, and application of Mexican law including, but not limited to civil, commercial, corporate, foreign investment, financial, and oil and gas laws and regulations.
Daniel previously served for nearly eight years as in-house counsel for PEMEX, the Mexican state-owned petroleum company, and for nearly three years for the Mexican subsidiary of a UK-based publicly traded financial company.
