Robert Fett helps global companies to navigate privacy, cybersecurity, and AI governance challenges. He provides pragmatic advice on global compliance projects, data-related commercial agreements, product development as well as responses to incidents and regulatory investigations.

Robert has a Masters in Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. His legal experience spans Hong Kong, China, Switzerland, Silicon Valley and London. Combined, these have equipped him to advise on highly technical data processing activities on a global scale. 

Robert’s experience includes providing product counselling to a prominent virtual reality company, assisting financial and transportation companies on the intersection of privacy and their respective regulatory frameworks, and advising several identity verification companies on their privacy compliance and AI governance. He's also advised on a large scale clinical trial of a Covid treatment.

Creating innovative solutions to data-related activities involving virtual and augmented reality, smart vehicles, biometrics, blockchain, identity verification, medical devices and clinical trials.

Counseling companies on their AI governance strategies including drafting policies, developing customer-facing materials and building out a data protection strategy to align with the product roadmap.

Assisting organizations with responses to investigations by regulators and data subject rights requests.

Drafting and negotiating data processing and data sharing agreements.

Assisting clients devise and implement workable strategies to legitimize global dataflows including through Binding Corporate Rules, Standard Contractual Clauses and the Trans-Atlantic DP Framework.

Implementing 'privacy by design and by default' programs and 'privacy impact assessments' to help clients embed data protection into their product development processes.
