Carey Bridger joined the litigation and arbitration practice after completing her training contract with the firm. Carey enjoys being at the forefront of commercial and legal development, working with her team to provide business and client-oriented solutions to commercial disputes for both local and international clients.
Carey is experienced in complex, high-value and cross-border commercial disputes and regularly advises on compliance related matters involving corporate law, mining law, data protection, labour and employment and aspects of health and safety, including mine health and safety.

Advising a multi-national steel and steel-related products trading company in respect of a claim for damages and termination payment for the failure to deliver raw materials and product
Representing a client in an application to review various forfeiture notices issued by the South African Reserve Bank in relation to alleged breaches of the Exchange Control Regulations
Advising an international specialised technological equipment manufacturer in urgent court proceedings to oppose the setting aside of a successful tender for specialised medical equipment
Advising a mining company in respect of various commercial and employment related disputes at one of their manganese mines
Assisting in advising a German manufacturing company in a joint venture dispute to pursue its rights under a disputed shareholders agreement
Assisting in advising a greenfield investment company as claimant and minority shareholder in a shareholder dispute in a joint venture glass-manufacturing company based in Ethiopia
Representing a minority shareholder as claimant in private arbitration proceeding regarding a shareholder exit dispute
Representing a claimant in respect of a claim for contractual damages arising from the breach of an oral variation of contract where claims of waiver and estoppel were raised
Representing an international mining and metals company in successfully opposing an application for the liquidation of the company and respresenting client i.r.o subsequesnt litigation
Advising a mining company in respect of the acquisition of a chrome mine in business rescue
Assisting in advising a global provider of specialist aerospace equipment in respect of the acquisition of (assets from a company in liquidation)
