As counsel in our Corporate & Finance Group, Aldo Boni De Nobili focuses his practice on transactional corporate matters. He advises a range of clients, including foreign multinational corporations and Chinese investors, primarily on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital investments, outbound investments and foreign direct investment into China in the automotive, TMT, retail, food and beverage, real estate, education, and banking industries, among others. His practice also covers infrastructure and energy projects.

Aldo joined Hogan Lovells' Milan team in 2012, where he was an associate in the Finance Group, and has been working in our Beijing office since 2013. Aldo speaks Italian, English and Chinese Mandarin.

Representative experience

Advising China Baowu Steel Group on its investment in the Simandou mining and infrastructure (rail and port) project in the Republic of Guinea, reportedly the largest mining and infrastructure project in Africa at the time, including advising on corporate/M&A, infrastructure, finance, public law, tariff setting and project development matters.
Advising Enel Perú S.A.C., a subsidiary of Enel Group, on the sale of its entire equity stake held in Enel Distribución Perú S.A.A. and in Enel X Perú S.A.C., for a total consideration of around US$2.9 billion dollars, equivalent to an enterprise value of about US$4 billion dollars, to China Southern Power Grid International (HK) Co. Ltd.

Advising Intel Capital in connection with venture capital investments in leading edge technology companies in China.

Advising Allianz Group on the acquisition of a majority stake in ControlExpert, the international market leader in AI-based claims handling in the automotive sector.

Advising the owners of a group of companies providing education services in China in the context of the offshore and onshore sale of the business to a renowned private equity firm.

Advising a leading Chinese e-commerce company on the formation of an e-commerce and logistics joint venture in Indonesia and the subsequent corporate restructuring.

Advising a top-tier UK firm on establishing luxury outlet shopping centers in China, corporate/commercial issues, and negotiation of lease documentation with brand tenants.

Advising Duke University on the establishment of Sino-foreign higher education institute Duke Kunshan University in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province.

Advising Tesca Group on its establishment of a joint venture in China with Huafon Microfiber.

Advising the Republic of Ecuador in connection with several oil-backed financing transactions involving Chinese banks and oil buyers.

Advising the Ministry of Finance of Ecuador in connection with a dual currency loan of approximately US$900 million from China Development Bank.

Advising a Chinese investment fund in connection with finance transactions involving the development of infrastructure projects in Africa.

Advising on securitization transactions of receivables from residential and commercial mortgage loans, loans to small-medium enterprises, and financial leases.

Advising banks and corporates on national and cross-border bank finance transactions, including in the fields of acquisition finance, LBOs, mortgage lending and real estate finance.

Advising bank syndicates on several debt restructuring deals, including both in the context of formal certified plans, restructuring agreements and composition with creditors.
