Dr. Tobias Böckmann, LL.M. (Minnesota)

Tobias has many years of experience with transactions and reorganizations of particular complexity, e.g. due to their regulatory aspects. For example, he successfully coordinated his colleagues in Germany and six other foreign jurisdictions in connection with the parallel cross-border merger of six European subsidiaries of an international insurance group onto their German parent, a challenge so far unprecedented.

He studied law in Trier and Freiburg where he began to develop an understanding of the Anglo-American legal culture and terminology through special courses in foreign legal training. After his clerkship in Mannheim, he received a doctoral degree with a comparative legal thesis on German and U.S. corporate law at the University of Heidelberg. He acquired the Master of Law degree and an admission to the New York Bar. Through his understanding of the U.S. legal culture, he can bridge the two cultures and help avoid misunderstandings between the parties.
