Trent Sterneck is a litigator and advisor focused on helping clients tackle complex legal challenges. He has extensive experience assisting clients engaged in class action litigation and other disputes—including MDLs and State Attorneys General actions. 

Trent’s experience in government equips him to help clients respond to a diverse array of legal issues. As a former senior staffer to a U.S. Senator, Trent assisted with judiciary issues, Congressional oversight of federal agencies, and appropriations for the U.S. Department of Justice and the federal courts.

Trent also served as a law clerk for Judge Daniel D. Crabtree in the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas. 

Trent is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served as an editorial board member for the Virginia Law & Business Review and litigated federal appeals as a member of UVA’s Appellate Litigation Clinic.

Representative experience

Served as primary author of briefing on dispositive motion securing dismissal of class action complaint against major automotive distributor.

Co-authored briefing on motion to dismiss securing dismissal of all claims against automotive manufacturer in federal commercial litigation.

Served as primary author of briefing on discovery dispute securing favorable discovery ruling for multinational automotive companies in federal product liability class action litigation.

Co-authored briefs in complex antitrust litigation brought by State Attorneys General.

Served as lead counsel in pro bono litigation successfully securing relief at trial for crime victim seeking to enforce and extend an existing civil protection order.

Co-authored briefs in a complex habeas appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, securing favorable ruling on an Article III standing issue.*

Served as lead counsel in complex pro bono litigation succesfully securing civil protection order and custody order on behalf of kidnapping victim.

Advised financial services company regarding legal risks arising from potential antitrust actions by State Attorneys General.

Assisted technology company with legal research and analyses supporting litigation strategy for complex action brought by State Attorneys General concerning consumer protection and antitrust theories.

Assisting automotive manufacturer in responding to federal class action litigation.

Assisting automotive distributor in responding to federal product liability class action.

Assisting automotive distributor in responding to state class action litigation.

Served as lead counsel in pro bono litigation securing five-year extension of civil protection order.
