‘Jason So has shown himself to be an excellent addition to the team. He has delivered excellent quality work, showing attention to detail while providing very client friendly deliverables.’

Legal 500 Greater China 2024

Jason is a highly specialised lawyer with a strong background in construction law.  He holds double degrees in engineering and law and has previously worked in an engineering consultancy firm. Jason has been recognised for having “delivered excellent quality work” and “impressed clients with attention to detail and provision of very client friendly deliverables” (Legal 500 Construction Hong Kong 2024).

Jason has vast experience in representing employers, contractors and consultants in court litigation and arbitration to resolve complex, high-value and large-scale construction claims, including delay, defective works, valuation of works, payment disputes and professional negligence claims.  Owing to his unique construction background, Jason understands the industry and knows to ask the right questions which lead to practical solutions.  Clients who work with Jason can feel assured that they do not need to explain all the industry practices and technical details from scratch.  This explains Jason’s ability to provide “client friendly deliverables”.

Outside of the usual construction matters and disputes, Jason has experience in handling insolvency court proceedings involving construction stakeholders, as well as defending criminal prosecutions for breaches of construction site safety regulations.  On the non-contentious end, Jason reviews and advises on different forms of construction contracts.
