With an international background in Asia and Latin America, Sylvia has developed a 360° practice in arbitration and dispute resolution.
Sylvia has developed her career in commercial, civil, environmental and energy sector.
She has an active role in arbitration from both the academic and the practice field, being involved in procedures under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce, the Arbitration Center of Mexico (CAM), together with other major institutions.
Her arbitration related practice also covers judicial procedures of annulment and enforcement of awards, as well as procedures regarding interim measures.
Before joining Hogan Lovells, she acted as Secretary General of the Arbitration Center of Mexico being in charge of the administration of more than 70 arbitrations.
Sylvia is a professor of Arbitration at the postgraduate program of the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
Representative experience
Represent a Spanish company in the enforcement of an arbitration award.
Counseled a Mexican enterprise in the drafting their international sales contract and dispute resolution mechanism for businesses in Asia.
Administrated more than 70 arbitrations under the rules of the Arbitration Center of Mexico.
