Los Angeles Office Helps Underserved Youth

In April, our Los Angeles office raised money for A Place Called Home, enabling it to purchase a desperately needed truck to make food deliveries. A Place Called Home is a safe haven in South Central Los Angeles, where underserved youth are empowered to take ownership of the quality and direction of their lives through programs in education, arts, and well-being and are inspired to make a meaningful difference in their community and the world. The charity gives young people the chance to grow up in one of the toughest neighborhoods in the country, with a college counseling and scholarship program that provides tangible support to send dozens of first generation college students to great schools in California and across the country each year.

The charity was challenged by Toyota to raise US$29,000 by 30 April. If they reached their goal, Toyota promised to donate the balance towards the purchase of a Toyota Tundra. Our donations, along with other generous donations made on their website, allowed A Place Called Home to meet and exceed their goal. Not only were they able to purchase the truck, they were also able to fund additional expenses, including insurance and fuel!
