Lendwithcare Microloan Enables Beneficiary to Send Children to School

Throughout the summer, our offices - including Dubai, New York, London, and Washington, D.C. - made microloans to entrepreneurs via Lendwithcare.org as part of our Touch charity program. Using donations collected through previous fundraising events, members of the firm made nearly 100 microloans to entrepreneurs in a number of developing countries, including Zambia, Malawi, Benin, Togo, Pakistan, Cambodia, and Ecuador.

One of the entrepreneurs who received a microloan was Victoria Goliyati, a 33-year-old market stall owner and single mother from Blantyre, Malawi. Victoria has sold rice, beans, and popcorn from her stall at the local market for the past five years and requested a loan to buy her stock in bulk and reduce her long-term costs. She hopes to save enough money to turn her stall into a grocery store. Victoria is very proud that the income she currently makes allows her to feed her family three meals a day and send her children to school.

Lendwithcare is our global Touch charity partner, and our support will fund hundreds of entrepreneurs over the next two years. As the loans are repaid, the money will be used to expand Lendwithcare into four new countries, thus magnifying the impact of our donations.
