Engaging at risk youth in Paris

French non-profit, Sport dans la Ville, works with young people living in low-income neighborhoods through sports and job-readiness training. Their programs include free sports training, job insertion advice, and supporting social entrepreneurship and have impacted the lives of more than 15,000 at risk young people across France.

Their Young Talent Program offers 18 – 25 year old participants opportunities to broaden their perspectives through international immersion programs ranging from English language classes to cultural awareness immersion trips and international job experience opportunities.

Sports dans la Ville is a long standing partner of Hogan Lovells, particularly through HL BaSE, where social entrepreneurs have received pro bono legal advice. Most recently, several volunteers from our Paris office supported the English Academy initiative, which matches Young Talent Program participants with Hogan Lovells’ volunteers for weekly one-to-one English conversation sessions for three months at a time and longer in many cases. Volunteers and participants appreciate the opportunity to improve their spoken English as well as discovering potential career and educational opportunities over the course of the tandem.
