The UDRP deals with confusingly similar domain names, not email addresses

VFS sought the transfer of ‘visasdept.com’ under the UDRP; it alleged that the respondent’s email address,'[email protected],' created confusion. The panel stressed that the UDRP is concerned with “the abusive registration of domain names, not email addresses." Disregarding the ‘.com’ gTLD, the expression ‘visasdept’ was not sufficiently similar to the complainant’s trademarks.
