Hogan Lovells authors chapter on EU foreign direct investment screening

Hogan Lovells International Trade and Investment practice Partner Lourdes Catrain and Associate Eleni Theodoropoulou recently authored the chapter on the upcoming EU rules on foreign direct investment screening in the sixth edition of "The Foreign Investment Regulation Review."

The past year has witnessed intense discussions at the EU and member state level on the need to review foreign investment flows in sensitive sectors. The European Commission submitted a proposal to the Council of the European Union in September 2017 for a regulation establishing a framework for screening foreign direct investment in the European Union. The chapter reflects on developments in the legislative procedure during the past year and discusses the possibility of EU rules on the matter of foreign direct investment screening being introduced.

The Law Reviews is a global publication for practitioners, in-house counsel, governments, and corporate officers, providing business-focused legal analysis and insight on rules governing foreign investment in key jurisdictions worldwide.
