The past five years have ushered in a series of groundbreaking changes in health care law and policy in the U.S., countless numbers of which are worthy of a health care lawyer’s attention. Important changes in the area of health care fraud prosecution are no exception. While not as widely publicized as other reform measures, the federal government’s reinvigorated focus on eliminating health care fraud, waste and abuse has created a host of unintended consequences for companies and individuals in the health care field.
