CEQs NEPA review officially opens

This is an update to the alert that was sent out earlier this week regarding CEQ's NEPA review. View the previous alert here.

Today, on June 20, 2018, the Federal Register published CEQ's announcement of an advance notice of proposed rulemaking that solicits public comments on potential revisions to the NEPA regulations. Some of the topics that will be addressed in the review include ways to streamline the NEPA review process, revisions to key NEPA definitions such as "cumulative impact" and "categorical exclusions," revision to timing and page limitations, and soliciting input on issues such as outdated provisions, the need for technological updates, and the handling of mitigation issues. The public comment period is now open with a deadline of July 20, 2018.
