Mark Orton is a senior associate in the Hogan Lovells Financial Institutions Group and advises a range of clients, including banks, asset managers, insurers, and FinTechs in relation to financial services regulation at both the UK and EU level.

Mark assists clients in creating commercial solutions to issues that arise in the changing regulatory landscape, including in areas such as: market transparency, conduct of business and capital requirements.

Mark also provides advice in relation to product terms and conditions and other types of financial services contract, including custody agreement, investment management agreements and financial services outsourcing contracts (including intra-group agreements put in place as part of corporate reorganisations).

Mark has experience in-house at a major international bank.

Advising an overseas investment exchange on its establishment and regulatory recognition in the UK.

Drafting and negotiating outsourcing agreements on behalf of banks, insurers and investment managers.

Advising a global reinsurer on its internal corporate reorganisation, including various intragroup services agreements establishing new governance arrangements.

Advising a variety of financial institutions on terms and conditions for products, including ISAs, pension policies and insurance policies.

Advising a start up cryptocurrency exchange on whether its activities come within the UK and EU regulatory perimeter.
