Hong Kong, 6 May 2021 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce that the firm’s counter trafficking work in Vietnam with Pacific Links Foundation has been awarded Asian Pro Bono Initiative of the Year by the Asia Legal Awards 2021.

James Kwan, Pro Bono partner for APAC, said: “Hogan Lovells and Pacific Links Foundation have been working together to better understand and support efforts to combat trafficking from Vietnam since 2017. We are proud to collaborate with Pacific Links Foundation and hope this will highlight the devastating impact human trafficking has on vulnerable communities.”

Yasmin Waljee OBE, International Pro Bono partner commented: “We are pleased that the important issue of transnational people trafficking has been highlighted by this award. It is a global issue which has engaged our pro bono teams in Vietnam, Brussels and UK. As an international firm, which has a global commitment to pro bono, we have been able to provide support for families affected and aim to secure accountability of those involved in the trade. Our work with Pacific Links Foundation will continue.”

Diep Vuong, President and Co-Founder at Pacific Links Foundation, added: "Hogan Lovells' support makes it possible to advocate for trafficking survivors and ensure that criminals will not prevail, especially when people's lives are at stake. We are pleased that the greater exposure highlights our vital partnership to prevent trafficking and unsafe migration."
