Yolanda Lau has over six years of high end disputes experience in Hong Kong. She has been involved in a number of major pieces of commercial litigation involving court proceedings, arbitration, and mediation. Yolanda's experience spans across a range of areas including breach of contract, commercial crime and fraud, joint venture and shareholder disputes, breach of directors' duties and fiduciary duties, and defamation.
Yolanda's comprehensive knowledge also covers all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment work, including advising on senior executive appointments and terminations, breaches of confidence and restrictive covenants, labor disputes, workplace discrimination and harassment complaints, data privacy and diversity issues, and day-to-day employment law matters.

Acting for a major bank in Hong Kong against a listed company to recover a significant overdraft facility.
Acting for and advising the Receivers of a Cayman fund and in a number of arbitration and litigation proceedings in Hong Kong and other jurisdictions.
Advising the International Commission of Jurists, a human rights group, on a Hong Kong landmark case where a civil servant applied to have his same-sex marriage to a British citizen recognised for tax assessment purposes.
Acting for TCT Mobile in relation to a substantial claim by Nokia relating to a patent licensing agreement and the production of mobile devices.
Acted for the majority shareholder in Yung Kee Holdings in a substantial (HK$2bn) restaurant business in relation to a dispute between the shareholders.*
Acted for Keywise, a substantial private equity fund, in relation to a claim against the controlling shareholder to buy back shares at a price in excess of US$30m.*
Acted for a high net worth individual and companies owned by him in High Court proceedings concerning a number of multibillion dollar claims for damages for conversion, conspiracy, negligence/fraudulent misrepresentation, and for breach of trust.*
Acted for a Hong Kong listed company in High Court proceedings concerning disputes in an ongoing residential project development in Beijing. Issues in dispute include existence of oral agreement, agency, and construction management and involves PRC law.*
Advised leading international accounting, financial services, and law firms on partner and team hires and departures.*
Advised corporate clients including banks on workplace discrimination complaints lodged with the Equal Opportunities Commission in Hong Kong.*
